Yesteryear Collection

Gulf Oil Corporation was founded in 1901 following oil discoveries in the Spindletop oil fields of Texas. Gulf quickly established strong marketing presence throughout the southern and eastern states. Among its many milestones, Gulf is acknowleged to have opened the first "built for that purpose," offstreet gasoline station in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1913. Gulf is also credited with introducing the first of the soon-to-be familiar free gas station road maps, a 1917 edition featuring the streets of Pittsburg.

By the 1950s, Gulf enjoyed tremendous national and international brand recognition with the familiar Gulf Orange Disk. More recently, in 1984, the Gulf Oil Corporation was purchased by Chevron Corporation (Standard Oli Company of California).

Now, a magnificent Kenworth tractor hauling a tank of Gulf Gasoline is recreated in an extraordinary die-cast replica. Precision-engineered and marked with authentic Gulf graphics, your Gulf 18 Wheeler Bulk Transport is produced by - and available only from - Matchbox Collectibles.
